Colchester Gateway Club

I have never run a workshop alongside a disco in full swing - but last night was a first and a great evening at the Colchester Gateway Club.

My second workshop at the Club and I was really please that last week's participants joined in again to complete their books - along with several newbies.

This week I grabbed a cuppa before the workshop began and lucky I did so because, as last week, it was busy, busy from start to finish.  The dance floor held a certain magnetism - but the participants went happily back and forth between book making and boogie-ing :-)

Thanks to Eileen for such valuable help on both evenings - and to Mandy and Rita for inviting me to run my workshop at the Club evening events.  Thanks also to my friendly, welcoming and totally positive participants :-)

Tribal Quilt Project 2012

Dear Participant,

A warm welcome and it is great to have you on board the project!

As you may already know, The Tribal Quilt Project 2012 is a creative project inspired by and designed to link to the Cultural Olympiad 2012.

Tribal Quilt will bring together artist’s books made by people far and wide.

The books will be displayed as a collaborative piece in a quilt-like form and Tribal Quilt will become a local treasure to be displayed and archived for future researchers and historians to view and learn about the community of Colchester and further afield, at the time of the Olympic Games 2012.
